Education and Certification

The CPIM program provides a common platform for individuals to evaluate their knowledge of the evolving field of production and inventory management. Since 1973, more than 80,000 professionals have earned the APICS CPIM designation.

Individuals who obtain their CPIM designations gain
 - Specialized skills that boost productivity, collaboration, and innovation
Knowledge of how to positively affect lead times, inventory, productivity, and bottom-line profitability
- Expertise that leads to greater confidence, recognition, and professional success.

Employers who support their employees in obtaining CPIM  designations
- Enjoy a skilled workforce that is better prepared, more knowledgeable, more capable, more productive, and able to contribute to a successful bottom line
- Validate the knowledge and skill set of their employees leading to productivity improvement in the workplace
- Achieve competitive advantage in the marketplace through a highly trained, confident, and productive workforce.

CPIM courses are offered two times during the year – Winter and Summer.  There are no test or grades issued for these courses, only a certificate of completion.  After completion of the program, participants will be able to demonstrate an increased level of production and inventory management technical knowledge, gain confidence in their ability to contribute to their employer's success, achieve industry and peer recognition for their professional abilities, create professional growth and skills that last a lifetime.
